Anji Shop Exploration 1

Opera House Coffee

This shop is located in the Mantangli Art Village in Anji, and it’s within walking distance from Lingfeng Temple. Although the decor is very Instagram-worthy, the overall materials used are rather cheap. With square tables and camping chairs, the comfort level is indeed just average—perhaps intentionally so you won’t stay too long. The food and drinks taste decent enough, but the prices are a bit steep; whether it’s coffee or tea, a cup generally costs around 50 RMB. On the plus side, they have artificial snowfall in the courtyard, making it quite photogenic. Personally, I think placing an edible rice paper printed with “God of Wealth Arrives” on the latte is completely unnecessary and actually ruins the coffee’s flavor, but hey, that’s trendy cafes for you…

Dounai Coffee

This shop is located in Yucun, Tianhuangping Town. Yucun itself has become quite a popular internet-famous village. This cafe is essentially a walk-up window bar with reasonable prices. Right next door is the ‘Youth Village Life Inspiration Convenience Store,’ which is basically a small art shop that also offers plenty of seating inside. There are many seats outside as well, and when the weather is nice, you can sit out there for a long time very comfortably. Parking is available nearby, and the overall environment is excellent. The only downside is that the coffee tastes pretty mediocre and weak—likely due to using fewer beans, even though the owner claims it’s a double shot 🤷.
