Yuanshanjian Homestay at Mount Heng

There are no hotels within the Mount Heng Scenic Area, only homestays run by local villagers. Yuanshanjian is the highest-rated among them, and it truly exceeded my expectations.

The architecture is clearly well-designed, featuring many Instagram-worthy decorations and several perfect photo spots. In addition to the guest rooms, there is a spacious outdoor area, a rooftop terrace, and a restaurant.

The homestay has 16 rooms in total, most of which are around 60 square meters—very spacious—and come with balconies. They are equipped with full smart home controls, smart toilets, central air conditioning plus floor heating, and even an elevator for added convenience.

After booking on Ctrip, you head to another homestay owned by the same proprietor at the foot of the mountain, where you can take their shuttle up. You will enter the Mount Heng Scenic Area en route, requiring a brief stop to get off and have your tickets checked before reboarding to continue into the scenic area. The homestay is located right next to the first stop of the scenic shuttle bus, Shenzhou Ancestral Temple Station, so if you want to go further up the mountain, you can simply wait for the shuttle at this stop. On your way down, just disembark at the same station, and the homestay is within easy walking distance—very convenient.

Additionally, the restaurant serves excellent food; we had two main meals there. Breakfast, however, was rather average, offering only simple noodles and porridge.
