The name of Bvlgari’s “Kaleidos: Colors · Culture · Craftsmanship” special exhibition derives from the Greek words “kalos” (beauty) and “eidos” (form). This exhibition brings together over 300 brilliantly colorful works, including High Jewelry masterpieces as well as jewels from the Bvlgari Heritage Collection and private collections, spanning the long history from the brand’s founding to the present day. Viewed through the lens of Chinese culture, philosophy, and artistic traditions, the narrative depth of the exhibition has been reinterpreted and further enriched. Open to the public from September 5 to November 15, 2026, the exhibition unfolds across three chapters—”The Science of Colors,” “Color Symbolism,” and “The Power of Light”—vividly presenting Bvlgari’s magnificent world where craftsmanship and creativity converge, while offering fresh perspectives on Eastern and Western concepts of color.
In addition to the jewelry itself, the exhibition space was co-created by Bvlgari with Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of Japan’s SANAA studio, along with Italy’s Formafantasma studio, extending the experience of color through architecture, light, shadow, and materials. Chinese artists Liang Manqi and Zhang Ding each present an immersive installation—”Boundless Synesthesia” and “Forms of Light” respectively—allowing painting, light, and space to join this dialogue of color. As an important component of the Shanghai stop, these outstanding artworks further expand the exhibition’s exploration of color through the creative expression of contemporary Chinese art.
This exhibition is part of a global tour; it was previously held in Tokyo. Although the exhibition itself is largely the same, the Chinese edition has added a section on Chinese colors. The entire display has been arranged with great care—the glass is spotless, the lighting effects are excellent, and the photos turn out beautifully. There are far fewer people now than when it first opened, so you can take your time and leisurely appreciate these artworks inside.
