Continuing from the previous post, there are several hotels and inns within the Nianhua Bay Scenic Area. However, in terms of scale, only the Paramita Hotel qualifies as a full-scale hotel; the rest are inns. The inns generally have better locations, situated in the core area of the town, offering one complimentary electric shuttle ride each upon entry and exit. The hotel, on the other hand, is somewhat secluded, but complimentary electric shuttles are always available at its entrance. It is also close to Smile Square and Luming Valley, both within walking distance. After watching the evening “Nianhua Yi Xiao” performance at Smile Square, you can easily walk back to the hotel, and after breakfast in the morning, you can take a stroll in Luming Valley.
The hotel’s standard is not exceptionally high; the lobby is quite grand, but the rooms are rather average with no particular views. However, it offers one significant advantage: registered guests can drive directly into the scenic area without having to take an electric shuttle from the Visitor Center.
Nianhua Bay offers a rich variety of performances. You can check the schedule for each show on the Nianhua Ma mini-program. Times vary slightly each day, especially for evening performances, where the specific schedule may only be released on the same day or even that afternoon. Overall, the evening shows are more impressive than the daytime ones, with the final “Nianhua Yi Xiao” performance of the night being the highlight.
The Tower Lighting Ceremony takes place approximately every half hour.
The “Nianhua Yi Xiao” show at Smile Square lasts about 20 minutes and features moving giant sculptures, water screens, fountains, fireworks, and drone performances. It draws very large crowds, so it is recommended to arrive early to secure a good viewing spot.
Since the performances end late and the crowds upon departure are overwhelming, making it difficult just to exit the area, it is highly recommended to stay overnight in the town.
