Located at Sandao Farm, Sandao Town, Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County, Hainan Province, the Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone covers a total area of 45 square kilometers. Established in 2008, it is a large-scale sightseeing, leisure, and vacation destination built upon natural landscapes and integrating diverse cultural elements—including rainforest culture, Li village culture, Southern medicine culture, and Chinese zodiac culture—into a comprehensive experience of rainforest sightseeing, cultural customs, leisure activities, and health wellness. The zone brings together a variety of tourism resources, including tropical rainforests, canyon wonders, cascading waterfalls, Li village customs, tropical fruits, Southern medicinal herbs, and hot springs. It features multiple scenic areas such as the Zodiac Square, Rainforest Valley, Dream Valley, Sandao Valley, and Wetlands. Key attractions and facilities include the Yanoda Rainforest, Medicine Master Canyon, Zodiac Square, Paludi Outdoor Expansion Training Camp, Yayaya Tropical Fruit Village, Dadase Li & Miao Expo, as well as hotels and resorts. As a microcosm of Hainan Island’s five major tropical rainforests, it serves as a highly valuable exhibition hall of tropical rainforest resources.
For this visit, I used the complimentary “Flight Ticket as Admission” offer. All travelers arriving in Hainan by air can claim this benefit via the “Hainan Worry-Free Travel” WeChat official account. The ticket can only be claimed after arrival in Hainan and must be activated before use. Upon visiting the attraction, you must present your ID card for verification at the ticket office. There are many attractions to choose from; for Yanoda, this package includes general admission and round-trip cable car rides.
The location is somewhat remote, but driving from Sanya is relatively convenient, and the parking lot is spacious. However, visiting in June is not recommended due to the intense heat and numerous mosquitoes; wearing long sleeves and pants is advisable. The park is expansive, and additional fees apply for attractions such as the glass walkway, giant swing, zip line, and shuttle buses. I stopped at the restaurant hoping to rest and enjoy a buffet, only to find it was an open-air venue without air conditioning—I ended up sweating nonstop… Nevertheless, the surroundings are truly beautiful, making it best suited for visits during milder, more comfortable weather.
