I really visit Eslite Spectrum Suzhou at least once a year. After reopening post-pandemic, Eslite launched a half-price group-buy promotion on Dianping: a 50 RMB voucher for just 25 RMB. It was valid at almost all restaurants, with a limit of 6 vouchers per person. We had 12 vouchers between the two of us, but since each restaurant only allowed a maximum of 6 vouchers per transaction, we really had to go to great lengths just to use them all…
We visited during the Qingming Festival, so the entire mall was very quiet. Restaurants that usually require queuing had no wait at all. Both the restaurants and the bookstore required separate registration of contact information upon entry. I have to say, with the beautiful weather, the interplay of light and shadow on the architecture looked exceptionally stunning.
Lushi · Sushi
I had never been to this restaurant before, but unexpectedly, the quality was quite good. Perhaps because it was still early, we didn’t see any other customers throughout our meal. The ambiance was very upscale, with spacious seating arrangements and very large tables.
The sashimi platter offered a fairly rich variety: salmon, sweet shrimp, surf clam, botan shrimp, and vinegared mackerel. They all tasted pretty good; it’s just that there was only one piece of botan shrimp…
The scallops were large, with a great texture and flavor. They were pan-seared to perfection—truly satisfying.
Although the eel rice came in a small bowl, both the texture and taste were excellent.
You can also get a complimentary serving of salmon sushi by following their official WeChat account.
Overall, among the many dining options at Eslite, this restaurant stands out for its exceptionally high quality. From the ambiance to the food and service, everything was satisfying.
Ao Ba Nian
I had visited this restaurant before, but now it feels noticeably dated; worn-out decor is indeed hard to compensate for by other means. The absolute highlight remains the free duck blood and tofu, which offers unlimited refills—you can even ask for just duck blood without the tofu. The quality of the beef and tripe was decent, but as this was our second lunch of the day, we were already getting too full to eat much more. We had planned everything perfectly to use up our vouchers, but unfortunately, they couldn’t be applied to the soup base…
Jiang Zhu Cha
This place was an absolute rip-off. While the environment was lovely—situated on a large terrace with such a prime location—the food was truly disappointing. The tea drinks lacked any real tea flavor, loaded instead with artificial flavors and coloring. As for the items in the afternoon tea set… they were inedible to an extreme degree. The green rice ball heated in the microwave had burst open, and the cherry tomatoes were terrible too. Probably only the longan was somewhat acceptable…
In the end, we even used our vouchers on matcha ice cream and takeaway rice cakes… just to successfully use up all 12 vouchers… It really wasn’t easy!
