The National Day holiday is here again. At this time of year, no one in the country is at home…
Everyone gathers in a few specific places, staring at each other~~~ Nobody knows anybody else~~~
As a result, this period has a few characteristics: first, there are far fewer locals in Shanghai,
and second, the city is flooded with tourists. So if you simply avoid the spots where tourists go,
you can experience a Shanghai that’s even less crowded than on a regular weekend—and it’s a holiday too~~~
Senryo, a famous sushi restaurant from Hong Kong and the premium version of Genki Sushi,
has finally opened its first store in mainland China, located on the 4th floor of iAPM Mall.
So I went to give it a try. The taste was quite good; the sashimi was fresh enough, and the ingredients were generous.
As for the atmosphere, if you arrive early or make a reservation in advance, you can still get a booth~~~
If you’re late, you’ll have to sit at the conveyor belt counter. Although it is a kaiten-zushi place, all ordered sushi is made fresh to order, which makes it much better than Yixiu.
Originally, when Itacho Sushi first entered the mainland market, its quality was also quite good,
but it has gotten worse and worse over time. The salmon slices are now so thin they’re practically transparent—do they not care about their reputation anymore?
I hope Senryo doesn’t go down that path… Hmm~~~
The only issue with this restaurant is that different chefs put varying amounts of wasabi in the sushi…
If you don’t like strong flavors, it’s best to mention it when ordering~~~
I originally planned to visit Sun Flour under the DBS Bank building in Lujiazui, but when I got there, I found out it was unexpectedly closed…
So I had to go to the nearby Pure Italian to rest instead. Last time I visited this place, it was pouring rain outside, so the outdoor area wasn’t open at all.
I didn’t realize how comfortable the outdoor seating actually is—especially when the weather is nice enough, sitting outside really is the best choice.
When the main Binjiang Avenue gets too crowded, the northern section of Binjiang Avenue is an excellent alternative.
Few people know about it, and even fewer visit; it’s usually completely deserted, and only on days like this do you see a few people around~~~
But even the benches along the road and by the river weren’t fully occupied~~~~
