My travel buddy had been eyeing the Westin Heavenly Bed for a long time… so we decided to come and experience it…
This Westin in Tianjin is very close to the Five Great Avenues and not far from the subway station, making it quite convenient.
Compared to IHG, which offers various upgrades, free internet, welcome drinks, and late checkout…
SPG’s modest Gold status only includes free internet and 4 PM late checkout…
The room size is average, the bed is very high, and it features a Bose SoundWave audio system.
The hardware is pretty good, but surprisingly, there are no power outlets by the bedside…
Their White Tea amenities smell great, and the leaf-shaped soap is also quite fun.
The Heavenly Bed here is supplied by Slumberland; it feels a bit soft and could be slightly firmer.
I have to complain about their bedding setup: a sheet, then a thin blanket, another sheet, and finally a thick duvet on top…
Since the blankets themselves aren’t washed regularly—only the sheets are—and because they aren’t proper duvet covers but just loose layers,
they kick off easily during sleep, which makes for a rather frustrating night’s rest……
The overall style of this Westin is much fresher, and all the printed materials are beautifully designed.
The gym is also nice; SPG has really put a lot of effort into brand identity.
