Hotel Indigo is IHG’s boutique hotel brand. Unlike typical hotel design styles, it incorporates more distinctive design elements with a bold and modern aesthetic, offering a truly unique experience.
As for its Char Bar on the 30th floor, it is arguably the best bar for taking in views of both sides of the Huangpu River. When it comes to enjoying scenery from a height, an open-air setting is essential, which narrows the options down to just the bar on the 68th floor of the Ritz-Carlton at IFC and this Char Bar. Considering the viewing angle, only this one—situated right by the river—offers a comprehensive panorama of Puxi, Pudong, the Bund, and Lujiazui without being too high up.
In terms of ambiance, the entire bar maintains a very high standard, featuring bold design, comfortable seating, and great music. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean its drinks and service reach the same lofty level—especially the service, though the fact that they don’t charge a service fee makes it reasonable.
I only brought a 50mm lens… so taking photos was actually quite challenging…
The Bund

The three skyscrapers of Lujiazui; Shanghai Tower is rising fast.

Tomson Riviera—lights are mostly out, so the occupancy rate is probably still pretty low.
