Shanghai’s most famous sights are the skyscrapers along both banks of the river and the historic buildings on the Bund.
There are several high-rise open-air bars in Shanghai with unbeatable river views…
Including the one previously introduced on the 30th floor of Indigo at Sixteen Piers.CHAR BAR,
as well as Flair Rooftop on the 68th floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Pudong,
and also Tops on the 13th floor of the newly opened Banyan Tree on the Bund this month.
The views from these three venues each have their own unique characteristics. CHAR BAR focuses mainly on the Bund and the glittering buildings along the southern section of Binjiang Avenue…~~
Flair Rooftop places you amidst the skyscrapers of Pudong, offering a view primarily of the entire Puxi area~~~
Meanwhile, the terrace at Tops is incredibly spacious, providing a panoramic view of the architecture along the northern section of Binjiang Avenue and the scenery towards the Bund.
Despite being only on the 13th floor, the view is completely unobstructed, very close to the river surface, and free from those glaringly bright buildings on the southern section of Binjiang Avenue…
Taking the elevator directly up to the 13th floor, you’re greeted by a sea of blue outside… it definitely takes some time for your eyes to adjust…
The front half of the space is filled with chairs, while the back consists entirely of sofa booths.
Also, the music is quite loud near the entrance, but it gets much quieter further back.
During this week’s soft opening, you can still order from the restaurant menu downstairs, which is relatively much cheaper~~~
Starting next Tuesday, official operations begin and an entry ticket will be required: 150 yuan per person, including one welcome drink and one alcoholic beverage.
Opening hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 17:00–1:00.
Every Wednesday is Ladies’ Night, featuring free-flow selected drinks for ladies from 19:00 to 21:00~~~
Complimentary snacks include crackers, garlic green peas, spicy peanuts, and olives.
The temperature was pleasant when I visited yesterday; it wasn’t too hot in the evening, but as it’s getting warmer and warmer, I’m not sure how they’ll handle the heat…
Below are some shots of the unbeatable river view—pick a nice day and come check it out for yourself…
Lastly, let’s talk about the new changes at K11…
Now that clothing stores like D&G on the first and second floors have opened, the foot traffic has noticeably increased.
There’s also a carousel outside now—I wonder if it’s just for looking or if you can actually ride it?~~~
Additionally, the vegetables in the Urban Farm on the third floor are growing vigorously, and there’s even a new pig pen…
Two piglets couldn’t compete with the others and are noticeably smaller, so they’re receiving special care~~~~
