Bai Chongxi’s former residence, basically the restaurant with the best ambiance in Shanghai. I finally had the chance to experience it, and it truly lives up to its reputation. A white Western-style villa, a beautiful large garden, and a transparent glasshouse. The first floor is Teppanyaki, while the second and third floors serve Japanese cuisine. This seafood buffet is only available on Saturday at lunch. The ingredients are all very fresh, but the desserts are somewhat mediocre considering the price. The service is excellent.
Ambrosia is a Japanese Restaurant inside a marvelous French style villa, which used to be the house of Bai Chongxi, a famous Chinese general in the National Revolutionary Army of the Republic of China. The 1st floor was renovated to be a Teppanyaki restaurant, while the 2nd and 3rd floor houses a Japanese & Yakiniku Restaurant. This seafood buffet I had only served in the noon of Saturday.
