Before I knew it, this has surprisingly become my 400th blog post! Thank you to this blog that has accompanied me for four years and to all the friends who visit regularly~
This is my 400th blog entry, I want to thank all the people who always come here and support me.
I originally planned to visit Li Hongzhang’s Dingxiang Garden, but since it now houses Shenyuexuan, a Cantonese restaurant, I decided against it. Since I just wanted to have afternoon tea anyway, I chose Chartres Garden next door instead. Outside the window lies the expansive lawn of Dingxiang Garden. The restaurant mainly serves Italian cuisine. It’s not far from Jiangsu Road, and the interior ambiance is lovely, with tables spaced well apart, creating a very comfortable atmosphere. We ordered the afternoon tea set for two; the quality was excellent, and the coffee foam was perfectly frothed~~
Chartres Garden is an Italian restaurant. Really a good place to have a cup of tea or coffee. Outside the window is the lawn of Dingxiang Garden, which was a gift from Qing Dynasty viceroy Li Hongzhang to his favorite concubine, Dingxiang.

Bacaro is an Italian restaurant tucked away in Tianzifang. It was genuinely hard to find—I had to circle around twice with the address before locating it… The evening ambiance is wonderful, featuring a glass roof, though it’s a bit dirty, and given Shanghai’s weather, you can’t see the stars anymore. There weren’t many people inside; a few tables were occupied by foreigners. Using an Enjoy coupon offering 200 RMB off when spending over 300 RMB, we ordered without restraint. As expected, we ordered too much, but fortunately, the food tasted fantastic and was quite satisfying. They even served us complimentary aperitifs.
Bacaro is also an Italian restaurant deeply hidden in Tianzifang. It’s really hard to find. It has a glass ceiling. The food there is great.
