As one of only four resort hotels in China, the InterContinental One Thousand Island Lake has always been extremely popular~~~
I finally got the chance to experience this magical place~~~~
First, let’s take a look at the map:
This hotel is located on Xianshan Peninsula beside Qiandao Lake. After exiting the expressway at the Qiandao Lake exit, turn left,
and after driving about 10km along the lakeside road, you’ll arrive at the hotel~~~
But this place is really far from Shanghai… Although the hotel offers a direct shuttle bus, it still takes over five hours,
making it quite an arduous journey…
However, upon arriving at the hotel, as soon as you enter the main gate, you’re greeted by this massive window facing you—it’s truly spectacular~~
Passing through the lobby leads you to the front desk, where dedicated staff escort you directly to your room for check-in,
and present you with welcome fruit and pastries. The welcome fruit platter is quite impressive~~~
This time I stayed in a Deluxe Lake View Twin Room on the 7th floor. Since the hotel is built on a hillside, the building is L-shaped,
divided into three zones: A, B, and C. Zone B is in the middle and appears to house the executive floors, restaurants, lobby, gym, swimming pool, conference rooms, etc.
Due to varying ground levels, the ground-level entrance of Zone B leads directly to the 3rd floor, where the lobby and conference rooms are located. The 1st floor houses the restaurant, spa, gym, etc.
Zone A features deluxe rooms and suites on floors 4–7, connected to Zone B via a corridor with floor-to-ceiling windows~~~~
Zone C contains superior rooms on floors 2–5. One side of the entire hotel faces the lake while the other faces the mountains—both offer great views~~
The room amenities are all excellent, and what’s particularly nice is the seating area by the window, which is half indoors and half outdoors.
Whether you want to breathe fresh air in this season or enjoy the view with air conditioning in summer, it accommodates both perfectly~~~
The room is also spacious enough and very quiet; the only downside is surprisingly lacking a docking speaker…~~~
After more than a week of rare blue skies and white clouds in the Jiangzhe region, my luck turned bad just as I headed out for vacation—it became overcast…
So the view outside the window was somewhat diminished, but still pretty good……
On the way back the next day, it was both rainy and foggy again, making me feel quite fortunate…
