It’s been about two years since my first visit to Shutun~~~
Although I did visit once in between, it was only for a lunch set meal~~
So much time has passed, and the original Shutun location is gone.
The former new branch has now become Branch No. 1, while a new Branch No. 2 has opened on the 4th floor of the nearby Lehong Plaza.
As it turns out, the restaurant is still hard to find; all the friends coming for the first time got lost~~
Revisiting Shutun, everything feels the same: still the Tiger brand thermal carafes,
clean restrooms, crowds queuing outside, and small private dining rooms.
However, reservations are much easier than before—I booked effortlessly just a few days in advance.
Prices have indeed gone up, though not significantly.
The overall quality remains very high, with fresh ingredients and great flavors.
I felt the sashimi quality had dipped slightly,
but perhaps that’s because I’ve eaten so much of it lately that it doesn’t feel as amazing anymore…
A group of four is ideal for ordering, allowing you to try most of the delicious dishes.
Except for the Botan shrimp—there were no large, medium, or small ones, only mini-sized…
Then came a warm bowl of tea-soaked rice, followed perfectly by complimentary dessert and large cherries.
Next time, I might try Branch No. 2 next door.
