Wynn Macau / Wynn Palace

Macau has many interesting places to visit. After all, the main goal here is to help you spend the money you won at the casinos right here in Macau. Take Wynn Palace, for example: not only is its interior luxurious and currently hosting a supercar exhibition, but it also features an artificial lake outside with musical fountains and a cable car ride around the perimeter. The cable car itself is free of charge; the only catch is that you have to wait in line~~

Right next door is the famous MGM.

The mall inside is huge, with an extensive selection of dining options and snacks. Not only does it feature beautiful floral arrangements, but it is also currently hosting the Wynn Signature Dream Supercar Exhibition.

I originally planned to see the Tree of Prosperity, but I discovered it’s located at Wynn on the Macau Peninsula, not at Wynn Palace in Taipa. So, I took Wynn’s complimentary shuttle bus over to Wynn on the Macau Peninsula. After a short wait, the timing was just right (shows run every hour on the hour on weekdays, and every half-hour on weekends).

nThe entire performance goes something like this: the sculpture above, which combines the twelve Chinese zodiac animals and the twelve Western zodiac signs, gradually opens up to reveal an LED screen inside. Then the screen parts to unveil a crystal chandelier, after which the Tree of Prosperity slowly rises from the floor accompanied by music. Standing 11 meters tall, the tree features 60 main branches, over 2,000 smaller branches, and 98,000 leaves made of 24K gold leaf and brass. Illuminated by colorful lighting, it creates a mesmerizing display representing the ever-changing four seasons.

nThe whole show lasts about 7 minutes, and it’s quite a sight to behold~~

After leaving Wynn, we found ourselves in Macau’s old town. We went to try the famous Wing Kei Beef Offal, took plenty of photos of the historic streets, and also dropped by blooom, a well-known café in Macau that’s also a regular at the Shanghai Coffee Festival. However, their offerings were just average, which was a bit disappointing.

Afterward, we took the complimentary shuttle bus back to Wynn Palace. By then, the free cable car had started operating—it runs daily starting from 4 p.m., and you can enjoy a full loop for free simply by queuing up at the entrance. Along the way, you get views of the musical fountain, though it’s quite difficult to capture good photos.
