The Qingdao coastal walkway stretches a total of 40.6 km, fully connected from Tuandao to Shilaoren. This stretch of road is truly beautiful! On my second day in Qingdao, the weather was nice and the temperature comfortable. I walked about 10 km along the coast, starting from Zhanqiao Pier and passing by the Naval Museum, Lu Xun Park, Qingdao Underwater World, No. 1 Bathing Beach, Badaguan, and No. 3 Bathing Beach. Along the way, I stopped at Yibei Canghai Coffee and Duya Coffee. I have to say, I really love the seaside!
A note about Badaguan: since it’s primarily a vehicular road with relatively narrow sidewalks, and its European-style architecture doesn’t feel as distinctive as Tianjin’s, there are actually very few sights to see. Many areas are also under military management, so there isn’t much worth visiting. It feels a bit strange that this place is such a famous attraction; honestly, it’s far more enjoyable to simply take a stroll along the seaside.
After reaching No. 3 Bathing Beach, tourists gradually thinned out while wedding photography couples became increasingly common—almost every few meters there was a group, and there were even landscapes specifically designed for wedding photos.
Yibei Canghai Coffee
This café is right by the sea, with outdoor seating available and indoor sofas all facing the ocean. It probably fills up easily in the afternoon, but our morning visit was fine. The menu mainly features coffee, tea, and juice. We ordered a blueberry juice and a cherry juice—both were delicious—and received some mediocre chocolate along with tasty cookies~~~ Although the interior is a bit dated, the ambiance is absolutely wonderful; I can imagine someone happily sitting here for an entire afternoon. If you’re visiting Qingdao, this spot is definitely worth checking out.
Duya Coffee
We visited this café mainly to escape the rain, also drawn in by its glass balcony on the exterior wall. Unfortunately, due to the rain we couldn’t sit outside and had to stay indoors. The indoor environment was quite nice, if slightly cramped, and the coffee was excellently made—an absolute delightful surprise.
