The InterContinental Beichen is located next to the Olympic Park. Due to height restrictions at the time—it could not exceed the height of the Linglong Tower at the Olympic Broadcasting Center—the hotel has only 16 floors.
The hotel is relatively new, so the lobby is quite grand and the facilities are pretty good~~~
The breakfast selection is fairly extensive, and there’s a Starbucks and McDonald’s nearby, so even if your rate doesn’t include breakfast, it’s easy to grab a meal.
The sound system is a Bose home theater setup that can output TV audio, but unfortunately there’s no iPod dock, so next time I’ll need to bring my own audio cable…
My room was upgraded to a view room, and I received Chinese knots, three apples, two bottles of Laoshan mineral water, Daoxiangcun pastries, and chocolates as gifts..
The Water Cube and Bird’s Nest are right outside the window, though unfortunately the view is partially obstructed….
The hotel’s location is slightly off the beaten path, but if you’re planning to visit the Olympic Park, it’s an excellent choice.
It’s not far from the subway station, parking is convenient, and driving there is especially easy—you’ll hardly encounter any traffic jams.
The hotel service is excellent, and there are plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby~~~~
Also, the welcome drink for members is very generous—here’s a cappuccino:
