The St. Regis Macao

It’s finally 2024, and for New Year’s Day, I decided to head to Macau to ring in the new year. Flight and hotel prices were very reasonable, so I chose The St. Regis Macao for my first night. The hotel is located within the familiar Venetian complex—formerly Sands Cotai Central, now one of the five hotels at The Londoner Macao. I stayed in this same area on my last visit to Macau; back then it was the Holiday Inn, which has since been completely renovated, with two rooms combined to create the all-suite Londoner Hotel.

Although The St. Regis isn’t a brand-new property—it’s been open for nearly 10 years—it remains a top-tier luxury option. The rooms are generously sized, with even the base category starting at 53 square meters. Both maintenance and service are impeccable, and the shower water pressure is excellent. Thanks to my modest Marriott Gold Elite status, I was upgraded to a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower, and received complimentary red wine, fruit, and madeleines. Breakfast was especially impressive: while in-room dining is available, the restaurant offers an even more lavish spread without being too crowded, and the food is delicious. All juices are freshly squeezed, and beautifully cut fruit is stored in a large built-in refrigerator. Upon arrival, staff also kindly guide you through the different dining areas.

The hotel provides full butler service throughout your stay. I added my butler on WeChat in advance, and they were incredibly responsive and convenient—any request or issue was promptly addressed.

The bathroom also features a double vanity setup.

The swimming pools for all five hotels are located in this area, separated by different entrances and floors, but they’re all visible from above.

From the window, you can (just barely) see The Parisian and its Eiffel Tower.

The Shoppes at Londoner has also undergone a complete renovation and looks quite different from the old Sands Cotai Central. Right downstairs from the hotel is an Apple Store, and the nighttime views are absolutely stunning.

Across the way are The Parisian and The Venetian.

Upon returning to the room, I found that fruit, madeleines, red wine, and Evian water had been delivered, and turndown service had already been completed.
