Huzhou Shili Fangfei · Xiangjiling Village

Shili Fangfei is a remarkable brand founded in 2017. It is a new type of integrated agriculture, culture, and tourism complex based on a village model, combining ecological agriculture farming and breeding, local cultural and creative workshops, aesthetic lifestyle courses, intangible cultural heritage markets, accommodation, dining, weddings, and other experiences.

Shili Fangfei does not position itself as a hotel, but rather as “an event company with a venue.” It is said that room revenue accounts for less than 40% of total income, with the majority coming from hosting events, selling courses, and organizing “study camps.” The brand’s founder is also the founder of Blossom Hill, and there are currently operational locations including Hangzhou Xixi, Sichuan Ya’an Wild Rose Village, Jiangxi Ji’an Diaoyuan Ancient Village, and Tibet Shigatse Summer Palace.

The property we stayed at this time is located in Huzhou, at the entrance of the Lu Yu Ancient Trail. In fact, along the entire loop of the Lu Yu Ancient Trail, there are many similar resorts, such as Huixingu, Xisaishan Hongju, and Giraffe Manor. The entrance to this hotel is through the Wuxing Branch of the Huzhou Municipal Party School, and they even share a parking lot… Some of the independent villa room types in the hotel come with parking spaces, allowing guests to drive directly in; for other room types, you have to park your car in the parking lot at the entrance and take an electric cart into the hotel.

Overall, the hotel is quite large. In addition to the residential areas, there are extensive public spaces featuring clothing shops, merchandise stores, handicraft shops, cafes, restaurants, karaoke venues, photo spots, movie screening areas, walking paths, and places to experience farm work. There is also a wide variety of experiential activities available. However, their service style is somewhat unusual: after checking in, you are added to a guest group chat, and if you want to participate in any activities, you have to sign up via a list in the group…

This is the hotel lobby, which includes a cafe and a restaurant. The coffee is quite good, the restaurant serves excellent dishes, and the ambiance is pleasant, with several cats often lounging in the cafe.

We stayed in a two-bedroom villa this time, with an area of approximately 120 square meters. The hardware and interior decoration standards are relatively high, featuring central air conditioning and a fresh air system throughout the house, ensuring a comfortable stay.

The drinks in the living room mini-fridge are all complimentary, and pour-over coffee equipment is also provided.

The master bedroom is very spacious and features a private bathroom. The bathroom is also quite large, though unfortunately it only has a single sink. It is equipped with a Dyson hair dryer and a large bathtub.

Right outside the window is a terrace.

The second bedroom has twin beds and also features a small courtyard outside.

The hotel’s public areas are extremely expansive, featuring many standalone little houses.

Movie screening area

The Instagram-famous swimming pool—though naturally, it is not open in winter.

There are also swings and various artistic landscapes perfect for taking photos.

The mountains are truly beautiful.

There is a path within the hotel leading to the entrance of the Lu Yu Ancient Trail, but the trail inside is quite difficult to navigate, so venturing there without proper preparation is not recommended.

There is a reservoir within the Party School grounds, and it is quite scenic.
